Frequently Asked Questions
Where will my session take place?
Most my newborn sessions are done in the comfort of your own home, but there is no reason why you cannot get wrapped up with your little one if you would like an outdoor session, if you do then I have some locations that are quiet and have accessible parking.
Family and maternity sessions can be done at home, or outdoors.
What time do your sessions take place?
Timing is key with newborns and toddlers! The best time is morning and I tend to do all my shoots at 10am, this is because babies tend to be overstimulated later in the day and less settled.
What do I need to wear?
I do have a small client wardrobe, which you are welcome to use and I also send over a style guide once you have booked with all information attached!
I never used to place enough emphasis on colours, but if you want your photographs to look like the ones in my portfolio then having a neutral colour scheme is key! Think creams, beige and soft browns.
How long do sessions take?
Newborn sessions take approx. 2 hours, but this can be less or more, we go at your babies pace. I do not time Newborn sessions as I want them to be baby led, factoring in any changes and feeds.
So pop on some music, soak up your little one and spend this time to be in the moment, unhurried and at your babies pace.
Family sessions and Maternity can take approx 45 mins to 1 hour.
What happens if my child does not behave?
Here is the secret...They don't need to! Please never ask your child to sit and smile at the camera, all I ask is that you use your session as a chance to interact and play with your toddlers with minimal interactions. Let them be wild, explore and hang off your neck like a monkey if they want to- these moments always make the best photographs! Movement is key, so I will never ask you to stand and smile at the camera.
Bring with you their favourite toys, books and some snacks!
